Wedding photography studio has a drop in productivity for several weeks
Computer cannot get online A phone call was received last fall the business owner of a wedding photography studio in Minneapolis. There was a computer that hadn't been online in weeks. He'd already spent well over 10 hours trying to fix the problem before calling. He tried reinstalling the operating system, replacing the ethernet cable and moving machine to different jacks but nothing seemed to work.
Solution It's not best practice to give static ip addresses to workstations. Once I added the static info and 2 DNS entries, the workstation was able to bring up http://www.google.com. Each time you step away from your business to "fix a computer problem", you lose revenue. The problem is made worse because for each hour the business owner spent time working on this technology problem, he's wasn't helping his customers or directing his staff. Many computer problems can be solved in much less time by a qualified and experienced IT professionals than by non technical staff. Cost is often a motivator as to why a businesses will try to fix a computer problem internally. Don't waste another minute fussing with computer problems. Get back online with Aden Networks.
