I always recommend maxing out the warranties on laptops, servers and workstations because the warranty amount will usually pay for itself after one claim. A laptop's LCD replacement for any model starts at over $400.00. CD-rom drives in laptops start at nearly $80. If your hard drive fails on your desktop, you're looking at $70-$150 depending on the size. If your video card fails, that's $60. It's nice to not worry about finding the right hardware to get your system back up and running! Example:
